DOCX to PPT Conversion FAQ

What does the DOCX to PPT converter do?
+
It converts a DOCX document into PPT. Text, paragraph styles, tables, and embedded images are preserved as closely as the target format allows.
Headings, paragraph styles, tables, and embedded images carry across. Advanced layout (text boxes, complex columns, macros) may simplify when PPT does not support the feature one-for-one.
You can convert the PPT back to DOCX on this site. If either format involved is lossy, the round-trip is not bit-perfect even though it is visually or audibly close.
Default settings target broadcast / web quality — visually identical to the source for most viewers. For archival use, pick the highest quality option in the converter settings.
No — this conversion pins the layout. A DOCX adapts its line breaks to whatever width and font size the reader is using; the PPT fixes page geometry at conversion time, so on a phone you get the whole page scaled down rather than text rewrapped to the screen. That is the right trade when the layout must not move, and the wrong one when the file is for reading on a small device. DOCX is inspectable, diffable and readable by Google Docs, LibreOffice, Pages and every modern word processor. PPT is the binary Microsoft PowerPoint presentation format from PowerPoint 97 through 2003.
It opens everywhere, but it is a compatibility choice rather than a good one. The binary formats predate the XML packages, carry macro payloads that many mail servers strip on sight, and are being steadily deprecated by Microsoft itself. Use them when a specific piece of old software demands them, and the XML format otherwise. PPT loses fidelity in modern PowerPoint, and its embedded media often references codecs that no longer exist on current machines.
Free conversions have a size limit per file, set by the type of file, and the page tells you when a file is over it. A paid plan removes that limit, so much larger files can be converted.
Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
Uploaded files are processed on our own conversion servers, nobody looks at them, and they are not shared. The upload and the converted file are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
No. The converter runs entirely in your browser plus our cloud — no plugin, no install, no admin rights. It works on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android.
Yes. One conversion an hour is free, with no account needed, for a file within the free size limit. A paid plan removes the hourly limit and the size limit, and lets you add several files to one job.
Yes. Every conversion this site offers is also exposed via a JSON API — see /api/ for endpoints, authentication, and rate limits. DOCX to PPT is one of the supported pairs.
