What does the DOCX to SVG converter do?

It converts a DOCX file into SVG format. DOCX is Office Open XML, the format Word has produced by default since 2007 and an ISO standard since 2008.
Will my SVG have a transparent background?

DOCX files have no alpha channel, so the result will have a solid background. To get transparency in SVG, use the Remove Background tool on the SVG output.
What output quality should I expect from DOCX to SVG?

Default settings target broadcast / web quality — visually identical to the source for most viewers. For archival use, pick the highest quality option in the converter settings.
Will the SVG open directly in a browser?

Yes, and the DOCX would not have. Browsers ship a decoder for SVG and none for DOCX, so a DOCX link forces a download while an SVG renders inline. That is usually the deciding factor when the file is going onto a web page rather than into an application. SVG renders perfectly at any size, stays editable, is searchable and diffable as plain text, and is usually a fraction of the size of an equivalent PNG.
Does the SVG output support transparency?

The format does, but the source has no alpha to give it — video frames and rendered pages are fully opaque by nature, so every pixel arrives solid. The alpha channel is still useful afterwards: it means you can cut a subject out of the SVG later without changing format again.
Can I convert only part of the DOCX instead of all of it?

No. There is no page setting for DOCX files, so every page is rendered as its own SVG and you keep the ones you need. If you only want the first page, convert the DOCX to PDF and then use the PDF to SVG converter, whose Pages menu offers First page only.
How does text inside the SVG behave?

In an SVG, text is real text — selectable, searchable and re-styleable, and it needs the font to be available or embedded to render as intended. Converting away from SVG turns that text into pixels or into document text depending on the target; converting towards SVG only produces real text if the source had a text layer to begin with.
Do I get one image per page?

Yes. Each page renders as its own SVG file, numbered in page order, so a one-page document gives a single SVG and a longer one gives one image per page.
Is there a file-size limit when converting DOCX to SVG?

Free conversions have a size limit per file, set by the type of file, and the page tells you when a file is over it. A paid plan removes that limit, so much larger files can be converted.
Can I batch-convert several DOCX files to SVG at once?

Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
What happens to my DOCX files after the conversion?

Where can I open a SVG file?
