Why did my DOCX to XLS conversion return an error?
+
The most common reason is that the DOCX contains no tables. Because this conversion works by extracting tables, a file with none has nothing to put in the XLS. Rather than return an empty spreadsheet, the converter refuses and tells you to use a file with at least one table.
Will the paragraphs and headings of my DOCX appear in the XLS?

Not on this path. It reads the text layer of the DOCX; if that layer is missing - as in a photographed or scanned page - there is nothing to extract. Convert the scan to a searchable document first, then come back for the XLS.
The structure is - rows, columns and the values in them. The decoration is not: fills, fonts and borders are not carried into the XLS, and merged cells are resolved into ordinary ones so the data stays machine-readable.

Yes - extracting tables from your DOCX into XLS is free with no account. A paid plan lifts the per-file size limit, runs more conversions in parallel and removes ads.

No. The DOCX is processed in an isolated worker and erased within minutes of the XLS being delivered, and the spreadsheet goes the same way. We do not read, store or share what is in your tables - see /privacy/.
